Introducing the Early-Career Development Experience

When companies bring in new graduates or early-career talent, the stakes are high. These employees bring fresh perspectives, curiosity, and ambition. But without the right support, they can also become disengaged, disconnected, or searching for opportunities elsewhere within their first few years. Research from Gallup shows that “only 12% of employees strongly agree that their organization does a great job of onboarding and preparing them for success.” Meanwhile, LinkedIn’s 2023 Workplace Learning Report found that “93% of organizations are concerned about employee retention” and the Age 18-34 group has a higher emphasis on opportunities for learning, skill growth and career development than their older colleagues. Finally, according to SHRM, replacing an employee can cost a company 6 to 9 months of that employee’s salary—making retention a direct bottom-line issue.

The message is clear: if we want to engage and retain early-career talent, we need to invest in their growth from the start.

That’s why I’m excited to launch the Early-Career Development Experience—a new, cohort-based program designed to help early-career employees show up strong, grow with purpose, build community, and raise the bar for your company.

Why this matters for your business

Investing in early-career development isn’t just a “nice-to-have.” It drives measurable business impact:

  • Faster time to productivity: Employees who gain clarity and confidence in their roles ramp up quicker.

  • Higher engagement and retention: Lack of development opportunities is a top reason Gen Z employees leave their employers. Structured programs reduce turnover.

  • Improved collaboration and self-awareness: When early-career talent learns how to manage energy, communicate effectively, and build trust, the ripple effects improve team performance across the board.

  • Reduced turnover costs: With turnover costing up to 6-9 months of an employee’s salary, keeping early-career employees engaged delivers significant financial savings.

What participants gain

For early-career employees, this program provides:

  • Increased confidence and clarity: Practical tools to navigate the workplace with purpose.

  • Leadership behaviors from day one: Skills in communication, collaboration, and self-leadership.

  • Community and connection: A network of peers who support each other as they grow.

  • Excitement about their future: A clear sense of how their work connects to the bigger picture.

The structure

The Early-Career Development Experience is built for impact:

  • Quarterly, full-day workshops (four total)

  • Cohort-based learning (minimum 8 participants)

  • Fast-paced, interactive, and fun

  • In-person strongly recommended for maximum connection

The four workshops include: Start Strong, Lead From Anywhere, Raise Your Energy, and Vision the Future. Together, they create a foundation that supports the first year while accelerating the next five.
